On March 29, alleged jewelry theft gang leader Alexander Cuadros-Garcia pleaded guilty in Virginia federal court to racketeering conspiracy, according to a statement from the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He faces 20 years in prison. >>>

By Laura Heller                       Forbes                         March 27, 2013

Is there a role for brick and mortar stores today? Does retail matter? A smart person just asked me that question and although I suspect she knows the answer is yes, isn't the question really "What form should retail stores take to serve today's shoppers?" >>>

Celebrity Jewelry Gawk - Spring rings in
By Hannah Connorton                        National Jeweler                  March 28, 2013

Although winter weather is lingering in certain regions of the country, spring is here and celebrities are bringing in the season with bold-colored baubles. Now that awards season is over, stars seem to be donning more day-to-day jewelry: stud earrings, smaller drop earrings and more subtle (yet still trendy) necklaces. >>>

By EDAHN GOLAN                                 IDEX                             March 28, 2013

Let's start with the bottom line - U.S. retailers need to pay more for the jewelry they are selling, and don't get that much more when selling it. The wholesale prices they are paying are rising at a higher rate than the retail prices they are charging. It's a margin squeeze. >>>

By Emili Vesilind                                        JCK                                       March 28, 2013

By Barry Moltz                       OPEN Forum                         April 01 , 2013
