In Praise of Investing in High-End Diamonds

By EDAHN GOLAN                         Idex                   February 14, 2013

The debate about investing in diamonds in the popular and economic press mostly considers investment in 1-carat white goods, the kind considered the "bread and butter" of diamonds. At the same time, when these same outlets cover news about high-end goods sold at auctions, awe is expressed, usually without serious consideration of the investment qualities of these diamonds. >>>

By Larry Swedroe                                  MoneyWatch                               February 18, 2013

(MoneyWatch) "Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning." By Dilipp S Nag                   Diamonds.net                    February 17, 2013

India's decision to increase the gold import duty for the third time in about a year has made the local gems and jewelry industry nervous, and not without reason. They are not as worried about the possible impact on demand as they are about an increase in gold smuggling in India, which is the world's largest gold consumer market. >>>

Good will hunting

By Mia Katrin                            Southern Jewelry News                         February  2013

"If you don't know jewelry, trust your jeweler." It's that elusive, intangible, most valuable asset. Hard-won but fragile, it's the reflection of your character. Reputation. Good will. Especially in jewelry it's all important. Although abstract, it's a concrete asset in evaluating, selling or trading a company. It's golden.>>>

Tiny Diamonds, Massive Sand
By stonechicky                 The Israeli Diamond Industry Blog              February 18,2013
