What's new?

With only a few days left before the holidays, we know most retailers will be working long hours satisfying last minute consumer shopping needs.   We too are working long hours, anxiously putting all the pieces in place in anticipation of our new product releases in January 2011.  The first of these new products will be an enhancement to our already successful Ring Builder® Link which allows a consumer to select a diamond and then select a mounting.  The enhancement will now allow users to select any shape diamond and superimpose it on a picture of the ring before actually choosing the certified center stone... It's a really cool interface and we can't wait to show it to you next month.

As always, please feel free to contact us if you'd like a special preview.

Happy Holiday to all ...

Identity theft regs take effect Dec. 31
National Jeweler                                         Dec. 15, 2010

The Jewelers Vigilance Committee (JVC) is reminding retailers that the Federal Trade Commission's (FTC) "Red Flags Rule" will be fully enforceable come Dec. 31. J. David Jewelry is very aggressive with its video marketing. The "This Diamond" video is a slight departure from some of store owner Joel David's edgier videos, such as the YouTube video announcing his 1-carat diamond ring giveaway video competition. >>>

History of Diamonds - United States

By Roe Kalb              The Israeli Diamond Industry Blog          Dec.16, 2010

The United States isn't just the world's most powerful economy, it is also the world's largest consumer of diamonds: some 50% of the world's diamonds are traded in the United States. That's quite a lot for a nation with almost no viable diamond resources of its own. >>>

Traditional Approaches to Marketing Are a Sinking Ship

By Tim Malone                &n
bsp;             JCK                       Dec. 15, 2010

Old habits die hard and so it is with approaches to marketing for many jewelry marketing managers. What will it take to implement real change and to take advantage of more customer-focused marketing strategies and nontraditional media? EXCLUSIVE RETAIL SPOTLIGHT: Social media

By Catherine Dayrit and Michelle Graff          National Jeweler
