Chicago-Online jewelry retailers are scoring big-ticket prices compared to other online sellers. Jewelers posted the highest average sales ticket of all 15 merchandise categories included in the 2010 edition of Internet Retailer's (IR) Top 500 Guide, an analysis of North America's largest e-tailers based on annual Web sales.According to a story posted Oct. 27 on InternetRetailer.com, research conducted into the data compiled for the Top 500 Guide revealed that the 14 retailers in the jewelry category had a combined average ticket rate of $433.07 in 2009. >>>

Even industry supporters are starting to murmur, "What do we need this for?"
