Police Hunt for $1M Stash of Stolen Jewelry

Every time a robbery happens it calls to mind an action film, with the good guys, the bad guys and of course - a lot of money or a sexy piece of diamond jewelry. These days, Toronto police - having arrested four suspects in a $1 million jewelry theft who are currently awaiting trial - are on the hunt for the stash itself, which includes a 5.1-carat diamond ring valued at $200,000.

With Halloween merchandise already in stores it is time to firm up Christmas plans for 2010. The Nielsen Company is predicting flat holiday sales and Deloitte is predicting a 2% increase in retail sales over last year. However, there is some good news. Nielson is predicting an increase in the number of shoppers this holiday season. Last year only 1% of shoppers reported that they intended to spend more for the holidays. >>>

Paris Fashion Week

Several runways at Paris Fashion Week echoed the retro looks recently seen in London. Jean Paul Gaultier's show began and ended with American singer Beth Ditto, who has curves you don't typically see on the catwalk. Portions of the theatrical-like event were reminiscent of previous eras, including Joan Jett punk rocker styles from the '80s. The John Galliano show offered a fun look at accessories, with a mix of retro not too much unlike we would have see on Clara Bow in the 1920s and 1930s. >>>
