New ethics association open to jewelers, consumers 
 

A new organization has formed designed to promote and support ethical business practices within the trade, according to a news release.The organization--the Jewelers Ethics Association (JEA)--will provide information, education and mediation for consumers and the industry. Membership in the JEA is open to all members of the trade, as well as consumers, according to the release. >>>

In June, Jewelers of America announced it would be restructuring its relationship with its affiliate associations, in order to improve its direct support to JA members. It presented the state and regional jewelers associations with revised agreements that reflected a better business model while still providing support to those that remained aligned with JA. >>>
