Dr. Sataloff of Bala Cynwyd, Pa., a Philadelphia suburb, was first and foremost a physician, an Otolaryngologist. He was an accomplished surgeon in micro-surgical ear operations, and a university hospital professor.>>>

Overall online sales fell 3 percent for the entire holiday period (Nov. 1 - Dec. 24), the Reston, Va.-based company said. >>>

Silver margins shine over holidays

 Margins on sterling silver jewelry rose for 41 percent of jewelers over the holiday season, outpacing margin increases in all other product categories for November and December, according to those who responded to National Jeweler's annual post-holiday survey.
Preliminary results of the survey also indicate that 24 percent of respondents saw increased margins on finished diamond jewelry, and another 23 percent saw increased margins on colored-gemstone jewelry in November and December, compared with the same period last year. >>>

 Jack Hasson, a jeweler from posh Palm Beach, Florida, was found guilty on six counts of fraud. On February 25, 2000, a jury decreed that this society jeweler, with clients as well known as Jack Nicklaus and Greg Norman, is responsible for cheating wealthy clients of $80 million. Hasson is now facing a prison term of up to 65 years and fines of $162 million. >>>
