 More Sales, Promotions for CyberMonday

The online shopping day is held on the Monday after Thanksgiving (Dec. 1 this year). Nearly 84 percent of retailers will have a special promotion for Cyber Monday, up from 72.2 percent last year, according to the eHoliday Survey, conducted for Shop.org this fall by Shopzilla. The most popular promotions are expected to be specific deals (38.8%), email campaigns (32.7%), and one-day sales (24.5%). In addition, 22.5 percent of retailers will offer free shipping on all purchases.>>> 


International Amber Jewelry Design Competition

The 13th annual amber jewelry design competition in Poland is asking artists to critically examine popular-or POP-culture by using the centuries old material and techniques to create individual works of expression.Deadline for the international competition is Jan. 31, 2009. Judging will take place Feb. 7, 2009 in Gdañsk, Poland. Winning designs will be announced at Amberif, the International Fair of Amber Jewellery and Gemstones, being held March 11 - 14, 2009 in Gdañsk. >>>



Large diamonds to highlight December auction

Two big diamonds, one a fancy light pink, are slated to highlight Heritage's Fine Jewelry Signature Auction next month in Dallas.
Set in a platinum ring by Martin Flyer, the fancy light-pink diamond is a 4.03-carat stone cut into a cushion shape and estimated to fetch $150,000-$200,000."It's exceptionally rare to find a pink diamond in the 4-carat range and even rarer to find one that is GIA-certified Internally Flawless," Heritage Fine Jewelry Auction Director Jill Burgum said in a media release.>>>
