Pink Diamond Tender Completed

They don't reveal the successful bidders nor do they reveal the prices they paid, but the folks at Rio Tinto assure us that the 24th annual Argyle Pink Diamond Tender was a success. Billed as the "world's most exclusive diamond sale" featuring the "world's rarest pink diamonds" from Rio Tinto's Argyle mine in Australia, the sale attracted approximately 100 dealers who personally viewed the diamonds during an international tour with stops in Perth, New York, London, Hong Kong, Tokyo, and Sydney, Rio Tinto said in a statement.>>>

NRF lobbies for second round of rebate checks

Washington-With the weakest holiday season in six years looming, the National Retail Federation (NRF) has asked Congress to consider a second round of tax rebate checks, or other direct relief, for consumers.
NRF Vice President and Tax Counsel Rachelle Bernstein said the NRF appealed to the House Ways and Means Committee in written testimony, asking lawmakers to take measures to help stimulate the economy and increase consumer confidence during a record low time for consumer spending.

With only days left before America selects its next president, jewelers have told JCK who will receive their vote. A JCK national survey of hundreds of jewelery industry members (including jewelers, associations, wholesalers, manufacturers, and designers) find a solid majority are for the McCain-Palin ticket (58 percent), while the Obama-Biden ticket got more than a third (38 percent).
