AGS boosts members' business through sales training

Seattle-The American Gem Society (AGS) has partnered with a national sales training firm to establish a program customized to address the obstacles specific to selling jewelry.
Introduced during the AGS Conclave 2008 held in Seattle in April, "Custom Sales Training: Measured Results" officially launched from June 4-5 during the Las Vegas shows.

New York-The Jewelers' Security Alliance (JSA) has issued a crime alert for California after a series of robberies in which traveling jewelry salespeople visiting the United States from Asia were targeted.
The most recent incident happened on May 28, in the southern part of San Francisco, according to a JSA alert released on Tuesday.

NRF: Tax rebate checks benefit May retail

Washington, D.C.-Retail industry sales for May, excluding automobiles, gas stations and restaurants, jumped 0.9 percent seasonally adjusted from April and 3.8 percent unadjusted over last year, due mostly to tax rebate checks, according to the National Retail Federation (NRF). >>>
