The Louvre was able to negotiate the return of a 141-ct. diamond brooch, part of the French crown jewels, 121 years after it was sold at auction from the same museum.
The brooch was reportedly purchased for approximately $10.8 million. It was recently estimated by Christie's to be worth $6 million to $8 million. >>>

DTC Prices +8.5% So Far in 2008

The Diamond Trading Company (DTC) informed sightholders it would raise prices at its sight next week in the run up to the JCK show in Las Vegas.
Prices including the April / May sight will have increased by an average 8.5 percent so far this year, DTC said.

Online merchant Union Diamond sells a $390,000 diamond ring

Web retailer Union Diamond Corp. has closed its biggest sale ever, selling a 6-carat, pear-shaped diamond solitaire ring to a customer in Singapore for $390,000.
