BlueOar Raises Gem Diamonds Recommendation to 'Buy'

RAPAPORT- Investment analysts BlueOar Securities raised its forecast for Gem Diamonds "to reflect stronger pricing" of rough diamonds, particularly in the high end market. "Gem is well placed to capitalize on current strong pricing for rough diamonds, based on a combination of larger stones at Letseng and rare yellow diamonds at Ellendale," BlueOar analyst Alison Stent wrote in a research note published March 7. >>> |

New California law gets the lead out of piercing jewelry

Hipsters beware: That naval piercing or nose ring may be hazardous to your health.
In rare cases, seizures, organ failure and even death can occur. That's the message from the California Department of Toxic Substance Control, which is enforcing a new state law that regulates lead in jewelry, especially piercing jewelry. That law went into effect March 1.
