By Alex Shishlo                          Rough&Polished                              Aug.16, 2011

"Gold will continue to grow as long as there is no clear resolution of the European and American economic problems," - said the chief trader Investec Bank Australia Ltd. Darret.

Facets of the Diamond District

By Roger Lowenstein                THE WALL STREET JOURNAL                      August 15, 2011

New York was once a city partitioned into trades. It had a meat district, a garment district, the Fulton Fish Market. Other than Wall Street, the sole survivor among these professional geographies is 47th Street, which still functions as a sort of Ellis Island for uncut diamonds, a point of entry for 90% of the stones that are imported to the U.S. and destined to be cut, cleaned, polished, measured, inspected, graded, brokered, set into jewelry and, presumably, to win somebody's heart. >>>

No matter what side of the aisle you are on, will the latest rating from Standard & Poor's affect your business? The simple answer to that is yes. And no.For the people who have been out of work, and will be out of work for a decent amount of time to come, don't expect them to walk through your door. Is that a surprise? How to Choose an Advertising Agency

By Drew Gannon                                  Inc.                           Aug.11, 2011

Long gone are the days of a handful of Madison Avenue firms controlling the advertising world. Shopping for an advertising agency is no longer done in smoke-consumed boardrooms and martini bars. With the advances of technology and the introduction of digital methods, the advertising world has changed drastically since the 1960s. >>>

By Guy Bergstrom                          About.com Guide                            Aug. 04, 2011

Recently, I had the opportunity to assist a friend in gaining the publicity and attention he deserved. A long journey had taken him from the small town boxing ring to the Olympic Trials. I knew that he deserved not only the media attention but public attention as well. >>>

Commerce 3.0: Online Research, Offline Buying

By Jack Abraham                        E-Commerce Times                            Aug 13, 2011

The way consumers use the Internet has evolved, transitioning from Web-based sales to what Forrester calls "Web-influenced sales" -- sales in local stores that are generated through online marketing and research. Top Designers Share the Creative Tales Behind Favorite Jewelry-Making Projects

By TammyJones                       Jewelry Making Daily                        Aug.15, 2011

Whenever I sell a piece of jewelry, the buyers (and browsers) often ask me the story behind a piece. Wall Street, Main Street and e-commerce

By Don Davis                       Internet Retailer                      Aug 11,2011

What does this week's sharp drop in stock prices mean for online retailers? The answer depends, of course, on whether the market keeps going down or reverses course. If it keeps dropping, consumers will feel less wealthy and more concerned about their jobs. >>>
