What's New?

Does my website help me get more customers?

Sometimes I am in disbelief when talking to jewelers that still don't have a website or don't see the benefits of having an online presence. For their information, study shows that 82 %  of customers search online before walking in to stores. It is very important to  have a nice site that represents your company and show cases some of the merchandise you carry. Once you have a website, it is equally important to market it. Unfortunately, the jewelers that still want to do business the old way, will not be around for very long. You have to change with time and the time is now to restructure your business and reinvent your company. Doing nothing is the worst thing you can do.

GemFind has created hundreds of sites for the jewelry industry and we know what makes a site successful. Give us a call for a free consultation. You have nothing to lose and a lot to gain. 800-373-4373.

New Frontiers in Jewelry Retailing

There is a lot about the concept of "brass and glass"-which lets jewelers hold down inventory costs by only showing replicas-that is controversial, starting with the name. In April 2008 a shipwreck was discovered at the beach of Sperrgebiet. A geologist working for De Beers, which owns the diamond mining operation in the area, found a copper ingot lying in the sand. The ingot was embedded with a trident-shaped mark, which was eventually recognized as the hallmark of Anton Fugger, one of Renaissance Europe's wealthiest financiers.>>>

Luxury on the low

By Victoria Gomelsky          National Jeweler      September 29. 2009

At the JA New York Summer Show in July, German Seferbekov, the Russian jewelry designer behind Kabirksi and Co., displayed a collection of deluxe yet provocative creations made all the more intriguing by his trademark image, a cockroach. The insect appears in the designer's ads and on his Web site, where an animated roach crawls across a screen bearing Seferbekov's scribbled pseudonym, G. Kabirski, and pauses to mark the period and dot the two "i's" with diamonds before scurrying away.>>>
