Greenwich, CT – September 1, 2006
A white male robber got off a green motorcycle at 4:30 p.m. and entered a retail jewelry store wearing a helmet that covered his face. He pulled a gun, announced a robbery, and ordered the sales associates to fill his backpack with diamond jewelry. A passerby, seeing the armed robbery, informed a nearby traffic policeman who went to the store. As the officer arrived, the armed robber was exiting the store, and, upon seeing the officer, ran to his motorcycle. During his escape, the robber dropped his backpack and all the stolen jewelry was recovered. Within minutes of the robbery a vehicle stolen two weeks before was set on fire nearby which police believe was set by two white male accomplices as a diversion. More
