47th Annual Country Music Awards Highlights

The 47th Annual Country Music Awards was last night and we have the highlights. There were some big winners and, while the red carpet fashions were a mixed bag, our favorite country superstars looked stunning. Most wore gorgeous jewelry and statement earrings while several entertainers even incorporated jewels onto their ensembles.

Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley hosted the awards show, making time for a few performances and plenty of jokes in-between.

In addition to poking fun at the ObamaCare website, Paisley thanked Swift not acting like her fellow pop star Miley Cyrus, "for never once humping a teddy bear or gyrating with Beetlejuice." Swift responded with an imaginary tip of the cap.

Swift later performed a soulful acoustic version of her hit "Red" with Vince Gill, Alison Krauss and Sam Bush. The young star also received the CMA's Pinnacle Award, a selective award for artists who take country music to a worldwide audience. Garth Brooks is the only previous winner (he won in 2005).

The Duck Dynasty crew made a surprise appearance to perform an extra-redneck version of Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines.” Willie and Jase Robertson were joined by their wives Missy and Korie and even twerked on stage.

Popular duo Florida Georgia Line took the stage for a rocking performance and won single of the year for their hit song “Cruise.”

George Strait was awarded the top honor at the CMA's: entertainer of the year. The 61-year-old country music veteran is retiring from the road after completing his The Cowboy Rides Away tour, his final tour this year.
