The 2013 Met Gala took place last night, with a "Punk: Chaos to Couture" theme that tore the house down at the Metroplitan Museum of Art's yearly Costume Institute Exhibit. The swanky annual affair always proves to be a fashion festival of stylish celebrities, models, designers and A-listers of Hollywood. The red-carpet event was livestreamed and the Met Gala presented Beyonce as honorary chair.
Last year it was bright and shiny metallic ensembles that the stars shimmered in, with evening nods paying homage to Elsa Schiaparelli and Miuccia Prada. This year, however, with the "Punk: Chaos to Couture" theme at the Met Gala held much bolder fashions, with a plethora of lace in white, neutral and deep hues along with daring numbers of black leather, studs, pretty punk palettes, glitter and glam rock-ness.
